A Richer and More Meaningful Way of Gathering

A micro-church is a regular gathering of Symphony members and guests, in homes, where we worship Jesus through singing, teaching, and fellowship with one another, in order to make disciple-making disciples in Boston and around the world.

More than just a gathering

We believe that the church is both a gathering and a scattering, in that we're called to fulfill Jesus' commission to make disciples. We see micro-churches as a means of being scattered in order to serve our community.

As part of that, we will continue to gather as micro-churches and beginning this summer, micro-churches will be meeting as a mid-week small group in addition to worshiping together on Sundays.

Frequently Asked Questions

Our micro-churches will meet in homes all around the Boston area (and possibly one day in other cities as well!) at various times on Sundays. Please fill out an interest form using the link above, and we’ll be happy to get you connected to the best option!

Each week, you can expect a welcoming environment where you’ll worship, be challenged by teaching, and be encouraged in fellowship with others in a small group in someone’s home. The actual order of worship will look similar to what you’re used to, just in a smaller group setting and led mostly by various members of the micro-church. Worship resources will be provided but there will also be opportunities to use your gifts in order to serve one another through things like hospitality, musical worship and prayer with and for one another.

Yes! Multiple micro-churches will gather together regularly to worship all together in person at our church office. The current plan is for these larger in-person gatherings to take place about once a month.

Each micro-church will look different, based on each member's comfort levels and exposure. However, as a baseline, every micro-church should familiarize themselves with both our state orders and CDC guidelines, including the exemptions and allowances for religious gatherings, and communicate their plans clearly with those in attendance.

We understand there are different levels of comfort for every individual. If you don’t feel like you’re ready, or if you’re physically unable to join a micro-church, we encourage you to continue watching the service online from the comfort of your home. Learn more by clicking here.
